About us

KakaWatchNZ is undertaken by voluntary researchers interested in the conservation and protection of mainland Kaka populations, particularly in the upper North Island.

This project is reliant on the goodwill of the people who send in observations of Kaka in their areas.

Our thanks to everyone who has sent in Kaka observations and to those who regularly update us with news of Kaka activity in their area.  To date we have had Kaka observations from more than 500 people over the past three years.
